SCDOT Making Columbia More Bike-Friendly

9.30.12 – I crossed the Broad River Bridge today…on a brand new dedicated bike and pedestrian path. SCDOT did a fantastic job on this project, allowing for a stress-free way to cross the Broad River into St. Andrews and better access to the Three Rivers Greenway. Many thanks to St. Onge and crew.

Back in the Harbison again

9.30.12 – At over 2,100 acres, Harbison State Forest is one of the largest public urban greenspaces in the eastern US. It’s only 9 miles from downtown Columbia, and with 16 miles of dirt roads and trails, it’s a nice spot for mountain biking on the weekends. They even have a convenient bike washing station near the trailhead.

Martha’s Vineyard

9.21.2012 – There’s nothing like cruising along a dirt trail carved through a rural expanse like Martha’s Vineyard on a somewhat vintage mountain bike. Between Maine and Massachusetts, the last two weeks of vacation were incredible, but unfortunately, this was my only ride during the entire trip. Thanks to Amanda for hosting!
